How To Keep Brake Light Blackouts On??

I've had blackouts on for about a year. And it seems every 3or4 months I have to take them off and reapply new double sided thick type tape, the velcro kind. I think what happens is water gets in and loosens some of the adhesiveness. I use rubbing alcohol to clean the surface before applying it so there shouldn't be dirt affecting it. Anyone have any tips.

If I was you I would go down to the junkyard and buy a set of tail lights from another car and then drill a hole and use a pop rivet gun
Then if you screw up you only have little holes and can make another go at it, if not, well at least your tail lights are fine

i had the same problem with a firebird i once owned, they fell off the first night i put them on after i did a burnout...but anyhow,
the reason they are probably falling off is because you might not have heated the double sided tape before application.
just heat the side of the tape thats going on the taillamp (after you pull the paper strip thing) with a blowdryer RIGHT BEFORE you apply them to the car

that was the tip I overlooked and after i tried it, they never fell off again

Cool, I'll try the blower dryer next time I reapply them.
