This car looks like a scale model to me. It looks killer but for some reason something seems like it is not a car that you could drive.

With it being that low I'd bet it won't be driven very hard on normal streets.

For me it's a toss-up between Jupiter's Trans Am, and JeremyNYR's Trans Am.
Love the early T/A's.

Here's mine... I know, I know... hold the applause.
I actually have only had it a few weeks, and progress will be slow, as budget permits. Of course, if any vendors would like to showcase products on it, then we can talk... But there are some plans in the works for a few aspects of the car.
You can see a lot more of the car here. And since it is a project vehicle for the site, I'll have periodic updates there. I might also start a build thread here.
I'm pretty new to the whole "Camaro thing". I have actually always been a Mustang guy, except when I was a Jeep guy... or a Ford truck guy... or a Triumph guy. But for the last few months I have been wanting a 3rd Gen. Finally found one optioned close to the way I wanted it, and priced attractively enough that it could follow me home without raising the eyebrows of the evil, pretty one.

BACK TO TOPIC!!! This is not post what your car looks like thread, this is nicest car on the board. DONT VOTE FOR YOUR OWN CAR! Even if it is legitimently nice. IF someone else votes for your car, feel free to post about it. BUT UNTIL THEN, don't post about your car. Not that I don't think that you should be able to, just that it's gonna stop allot of this mayhem with everyone trying to get their car in. I didn't post until I got voted in. Now let the hating begin...

I'm just saying people shouldn't be posting their cars AT THE BEGINING OF THEIR PROJECT. not to nail any one in particular cough cough jeeponrock cough cough cough. Excuse me ; )
I don't actually have any problem with anything anyone has posted. This thread has been pretty possitive so far. I just want to keep this thread focoused. It's nice to have a thread where ALL the cars are nice if you want to save a few pics for a screen saver. And not have to go through 10 pages of everyones cars. You know what i'm syain?

I really haven't noticed much voting in this thread...
I've seen alot of pictures...and alot of cars people like...but voting?
If members are wanting to vote....there needs to be another thread, narrowed down to a few categories.(stock, modified, show, prostreet...etc.) Maybe...what...10 cars per category? If this is going to happen...then it needs to happen. This thread will just keep going and going and going.............with no outcome

Re: Nicest Car On The Board
I didnt interpret the thread as being a competition. Just a way for members to give their favorite cars on the board a shout out and give some recogntiion to the guys who did a good job on their rides. I dont think this should be a "check out MY car thread" for sure though. It's in somewhat poor taste to do that. This thread is just about giving props, not about cheerleading yourself. But there are no "rules" per se, it's just a message board thread. My interpretation is different from others.

I think me trying to keep this thread on tack got it more off track. Post want you want but consider the purpose of the thread and the OP's intentions when posting it. He wanted to see some nice cars. Post away!

Honestly, most of the car presented so far have been extremely cool (with one exception... that ugly pile of black and rust a few pics up...). But saying which one is "nicest" is like trying to pick the hottest Playmate from the last 3 years (I say that without know what ANY of them look like...).
The cars all have incredible features, but probably even their owners would change some (little) thing about them. There have been a couple that weren't my personal style... I wouldn't have built them, but heck, a couple of years ago I might not have wandered out and bought a Camaro. But I would feature any one of them on my site in a heartbeat (and if you want me to, send me a PM...).
Splitting it up into stock, race, resto-mod, Camaro, Firebird, the most evil... would help narrow it down, but there can be no "nicest" car. Of course, I'm pretty non-denominational when it comes to cool cars. I love seeing (and have featured) everything from barn finds to race cars and from rat rods to trailer queens.
I apologize for the interruption.

We need a seperate thread with a poll, or maybe a few seperate threads one for each type of car with polls...that would be interesting.

Re: Nicest Car On The Board
Ehh whats it prove. Cars are subjective, once you begin retro mods. If your looking for Factory correct thats a different story cause there is defined criteria. Quite franky if your car does not trip your own trigger the most, your doing it wrong. Its nice to get a complement here and there, but don't expect the world to turn on its ear for the same things you do.
Whats really cool is this thread has some serious 3rd gen goodness, that for all of us should be a complete whoot to look at on a rainy day. I must apologize for my agregious picture post, but it was in a tribute to Flyinlows car, which started me on my 3rdgen journey.

It's a LOT easier to grade whether a car is more original than the other, since a set criteria was established by GM already. Any criteria made up for modded cars would be highly subjective...

I think that would be cool....AND...it would be different. Throughout all of the years being involved on this site...(over 10 years now)...we have never done a basic "online carshow".
Hey BlueZee28.....maybe we should start a thread?

Also where is that badge supposed to go? The B-pillar? Your car is very nice - if you were willing to drop it a little more I bet a bunch of people would have posted it already. I cant really bring myself to deal with dropping mine any further either so I understand how that is.
Also, as far as a poll, all that would happen is the people with the most money, the most pictures online, and the most expensive (as far as money invested) cars would end up winning. It'd be between sicknessz28, bluezee, maybe spikeZ, and the guy with the orange TT camaro and maybe a couple of others at most. And you guys already get enough attention for your cars, is a poll to prove your cars are "better" than all the other nice cars here really necessary?
I liked this thread better when it was just about giving props to cars that inspired you, before everyone who got the most recognition started clamoring to prove theirs were the best.

Re: Nicest Car On The Board
I think its not a bad idea to mention your own car, or at least show a great pic of your own in your sig when you vote for someone elses, that way it gets seen same as SKELITOR did which by the way is awesome. Without that theres no way of going through all the members on this board and looking at each of their cars. That would take forever!
I also agree that no one should post their work in progress cars. I truly believe that one day mine will be so damn good looking it will blow everybody's mind! but for now it looks like crap. So lets keep the crap cars off here for now.
As far as a poll, I agree with Sickess, it would be nice to have categories. As far as this thread goes, someone should go through all posts in this thread and collect all the cars mentioned and take a count of how many votes they got. I totally would if I had time, or I might if I get time...

thats how 99% of every show/race/automotive event goes. The few budgets builds that do turn out really nice get tons of recognition for doing it on a budget, but those are few and far between. I dont know about you but I like the high end cars the most becasue they are the nicest, If I wanted to see a budget car I would look in my garage. this thread dissapointed hard core once peole started posting "mine is nice too or atleast I like it". read the title people. Typical TGO...

So many nice cars from low mileage restored stock type builds to wild and crazy cars with lots of performance and money behind them. You get a taste of everything. To vote in a poll you'd need to compile a list of cars and categories to group different classes. You cant compare my modded twin turbo car to a clean restored low mileage 3rd gen. Both are nice in their own ways but not the same type of build so cant compare. They need categories. Supreme Member

Wow, that REALLY got blown out of proportion. We just thought that it would be cool to have an online car show. Not sure how you came up with all of this nonsense about members cars being better than others. I have not once posted one picture of my car in this thread. Other members have...and I appreciate it. Like alot of us....I have alot of time, money, & work invested in my car...and for you to basically reword everything...is just childish.
Since when did anyone say "theirs" was the best? Your twisting everything around here...

Well I apologize, I said my piece but I think I might have been a little too harsh about it. I guess when it comes to us car guys we have a tendency to default to competitiveness, so when we have a "nicest car on the boards" thread everyone starts to want to find a "winner". I think finding a "winner" is missing the point, but I probably should have been a little more respectful and tactful in how I said it and not jumped to conclusions.
I dont think doing a TGO car show with voting is a bad idea, but I dont think this thread needs to be it.

Hell you might win both!

Shoot, I DEFINITELY don't have the most money, or the most expensive car (mod for mod) here, that's just silly talk!
I think you'd be suprised how many cars would end up in a voting poll. There are a LOT of really nice cars on here, some just haven't been posted and reposted on this site.

Why not do a " ride of the month" then at the end of the year have a " ride of the year"
On alot of other forums I read they all have one, why not here too?
That way we all get to see great 3rd gens though voting ?

I second that. West Houston Muscle.com has a forum like this one, and also has a ride of the month.

Re: Nicest Car On The Board
So I would think that we would need start a thread for nicest car of the month...
- This thread would need to stated "Nicest car of the month - January - nominations" Then have people nominate someone elses "Nice" car by posting the screen name and a picture. Once that person has been nominated there would be no need to post additional pics of the said car by other voters.
- The monthly thread needs to be made one month in advance, and nominations made in the 1st week of the month, then create a poll of the top 10 cars nominated... then we let the poll decide who the winner is for 2? weeks and close the poll and announce a winner.
- Use the 4th week to talk about said winner and post pics ask questions and such for technical resource on our nicest cars of the month???
- Once a vehicle/user has won a month, they cannot win again for 6 months? entire year?
Maybe a mod could help us organize this to keep from having various threads each month.
What do you guys think??????

Re: Nicest Car On The Board
Or we could break it down with a seperate thread for each catogory of car ( stock, street, show, drag/race, project/unfinished), and use the poll format after a nomination period has been determined???

Re: Nicest Car On The Board
^^ I like the idea of a car of the month, I know that other boards im on for instance the regalgs.org boards, they vote on a car of the month and someone makes a banner with the owner's board name and a cool picture of their car for the top of the forum pages. It obviously lasts until the next car of the month comes around. If this is too much work for the forum moderator or person in charge of web index files, then that's completely understandable.
someone would have to upload and change the filename for the banner in the HTML so it would switch banners each month. Could be neat tho! check out regalgs.org if you want to see what i mean.

No, Thirdgen.org is owned by Internet Brands now. They also normally let us be, they don't chime in much on day to day operations.

Re: Nicest Car On The Board
How about another idea. On my vette forum and others there's an X mas thread every year where people can give each other gifts, just putting up stuff for grabs that they dont need, 1st person takes it...can take 1 item max. Large and intl. parts recipiant picks up shipping tab. Always wondered why we didn't have something like that here
