Hood Scoop Question

Okay I have a 1990 Pontiac Firebird. I am getting ready to put a 350 in. And I have to buy myself a hood scoop. I'm not wanting to spend tons of money on one. So could I buy a non-functional 1 1/2 inch cowl scoop and cut the hood to make it functional?? Please respond ASAP thanks(:

Re: Hood Scoop Question

your not going to find a scoop that will fithte car properly since the hood is not flat anywhere. It will require a lot of time and $$$$ to make it look good and not like complete trash.

your better off without, or if you want a cowl hood, buy a fiberglass cowl hood. It will cost a bit, plus paint, but will look a 1000 times better.
