Well guys, with the weather picking up the time is rapidly approaching that I begin the bodywork on my car so I can get it painted.

I'm torn on the paint however. It is going to be black no doubt, but here is my dilemma: I don't like glossy paintjobs. They're nice, but something about them just seems tacky to me. I don't like my entire car taking on the appearance of a mirror. On the other hand, while flat black looks good also, it just has the appearance of being unfinished. Here is what I'm thinking...

Go with a satin black base coat and add clearcoat to it. Not too glossy, but not too flat either.

My car has American racing AR-23 wheels and I just added a hawks 5" spoiler. When the bodywork is done, my 4" cowl hood is getting bolted up. I'm also going to be re-doing all the badging in red.


Does anyone have a picture of a thirdgen with this type of paintjob? It seems to be extremely rare.
