Re: My new best friend for interior cleaning

All the time at work (I detail boats), they work wonders - they take care of stuff that even high concentrated cleaners won't!

I havn't had the need to use it on my interior yet, but it's certainly up to the task.
I wonder what's in that magic little bar anyway lol...

I detail cars,so I know what you mean..it surprized the h*** out of me..things that I would have to use solvent on,it took right off.. even took brake dust off of my wheels..I as a car detailer use a clay bar,I am thinking it uses the same idea..

Re: My new best friend for interior cleaning

the "magic eraser" is basically a very soft, high grit (1000+) sanding block. It will take paint off of sheet rock, clear coat off of your car, etc. Be carful what you use them on, they can sand right through and cause damage.

Funny story, buddy passed out drunk, we drew on his forehead with sharpie, he came to, got a magic eraser and "cleaned" his forehead. In the process he took off his skin, forehead was a giant scab for a week

OUCH! That's as bad as when I did a facepalm during league bowling, forgot about the metal support in my wrist brace that comes up over the bottom of my hand... left a good goose egg right in the middle of my forehead.

I understand the magic eraser contains some sort of foamed ceramic, which explains the very fine abrasive grit if true.

I thought it might be "Magic Eraser" but as I never heard of it, I wasn't sure. Where is it available?

Haha thats an awesome story xD
I'd guess they're closer to 2000grit, though I've always thought it had some chemical component to it, I don't know though lol

Anyway, you can find them at Target or Walmart.

Re: My new best friend for interior cleaning

We use them in the Air Force to wash jets. They are the only way to get hydro fluid and JP-8 off of a jet.

I used them to clean my engine bay while the motor was out. It sure didn't take any paint off though....

Re: My new best friend for interior cleaning

they do work on delicate materials, but if you just start scrubbing stuff hard after too long it'll take paint off and start marring finishes. It made the clear coat on my trucks radiator support hazy....

Re: My new best friend for interior cleaning

I use these on the Z28 wheels and they are the best and easiest way I've found to remove the brake dust. My only complaint is that they get a little expensive, but they definitely do the job.
