How to tint, lower and add sparkles and smoke in Photoshop

I've always wondered how this is done
Can someone help please?
I also understand and appreciate that there has been a lot of Photoshop questions lately so I will keep it brief

Appearance: Fibreglass hood
Audio: Boston 4x6" CX7e 2-ways, 6x9" Nippon America (no-name?) 3-ways

Other stuff I haven't figured out yet.

TInt can be done with the airbrush tool, or even more simply with the burn/dodge tools. Both smoke and "sparkles" (?) can be added with filters - Kai's Power Tools has a set in which both effects can be realistically achieved, as well as fire, cracks, etc...
