Detailer used Armor All maybe? And made my gear shifter **** "sticky"?

I first want to say I do all my car detailing myself, I don't trust anyone with my stuff. I hate going to the car wash/detailer but this time I had to. I don't have a auto-shampooer and I wanted to shampoo my carpets clean, after I pulled the old seats, and before I install the new ones. I yanked all seats, but the driver seat, and took it to the car wash. They said they had to give it a full detail if I wanted to get the carpet shampooed. Ok, whatever, if they were going to charge me for it fine. SO, I brought a ratchet and pulled the drivers seat so they could clean the entire carpet seatless. I was standing there next to the guy, playing with my cellphone, which I know must be annoying, but I didn't want them to SLAM the trunk repeatedly trying to get it to latch on the automatic trunk latch (I KNOW you guys KNOW what I mean). I told the guy about the trunk but his English wasn't too good. The owner even asked me why I was standing there. I also had to reinstall the front seat...not to build you a clock but I like doing everything myself...ANYWAY I don't know what they put on the T part of my OEM gear shifter **** and OEM console lid (Armor All?) but this morning it is sticky and disgusting. Its like peeling? There was sticky residue all over my hand and elbow, I had to run in the house and put a towel on it to drive to work. Can get it off with Goo Gone or Meguiar's myself? I'd rather do that before heading back to the place and complaining, which I hate to do. I don't want to make it worse! How can I get this sticky residue off? Its it old dirt build up? Or the plastic/rubber breaking down? Suggestions?

Armor All makes stuff slippery in my experience. What it sounds like to me is they tried cleaning it and they got some old caked on dirt loosened up. Once you touched it, it came off.

Please stop using Armor-All for anything. Your ride is too important to use such crap on it.

Dont waste your money on any crap they sell at Advance. Autozone or Wallmart, use professional products, the price is not much more but the quality is way above that other crap. I like Chemical Guys products myself, they have reasonable prices as well
