I saw one a few months ago in the reader's rides. It was a 1986 IROC that had 92 ground effects and 20" chromed IROCs. It was painted a deep purple. I think it looked ugly because he had 35 series tires on the car. The wheels were too big for the car's wheel well and they actually made the look like it was lifted. I think 20"s look the best when they fill a car's wheel well but on third gen's the wheel wells are just too small. I'll try to fit the pic so you can see what I mean.

that purple iroc on dubs was just posted a day or 2 ago, do a search for largest wheel possible.
i plan on doing 20's in the back and 18's in the front with a 3/2 drop...
may have some serious work to do in the back though.

I dont think 20s would look right because the wheel well is too small, and you would need like 30 or 35 series tires, like mentioned earlier. 18's look right on thirdgens, they still look like big wheels, but you can actually see some of the tire.

I dont mind if you guys dont like my purple car, The women do, I am sure you will even hate it more when I smoke you with the built to the nuts ls1 thats being put in it. I never thought I would see the day when someone calls a billet aluminum grill "SheetMetal" looking Ha !! You guys crack me up. What about the shaved handles? Are those "Tacky" or just Ghetto ? and those "tacky" graphics are actualy air brushed by a pro. they do not get represented in a picture very well.

to me what ruins the wheels is the chrome "eyebrows"
and if it were my car I'd get the inserts on the wheels painted to look factory me it doesn't look like a giant mass of "shiny".
I'm also not one for any airbrushed graphics.
I like the color though, it's growin' on me.
taillight covers, also bad.
If I were still 16 I'd love the purple car. Now that I've grown up, I find myself saying eww and I like @ the same time.
but hey it's better than my car.

And next, on "When thirdgens go bad", we will be installing a martini bar and seven, yes count them, seven, foglights of all diferent shapes and sizes. This will be the most hooked up Camaro you have ever seen.
Seriously, Lose the non fitting wing on the red one, the fender lip crap, IROC airbrushing and you might have a decent car. Just because a professional airbrushed(ohh, ahh) a decal on your car doesnt mean it looks good. Let me see a picture of your DENALI with the camaros, and I'll want to see pics of the LS1 after your done putting it in to. Youll get airborne trying to race anyone above 100mph.

You have walked onto the biggest baddest dog porch and you will be dealt with accordingly.

20" wheels look really gay. i like the 18" wheels though. and as for that 96 supra wana be wing on the red iroc, take it off. those gold tinted "eye brows" must go on the red car. and the purple one with its sucky iroc-z painted on it and all the non-esential extras, take them off and put those 20" on your denali and give the camaros to someone who wont be sacreligous to them.

Car: 1989 IROC-Z
Engine: 383 stroker
Transmission: 700R4 3500 stall, TransGo shift kit
Axle/Gears: Moser 9", 4.11:1
My opinions:
Chrome fender trim: Tacky
20" rims: Ugly
Wing on the red car: Too curved for a thirdgen
Airbrushed IROC: Too big, ugly, tacky, kinda ghetto.
Gold chain steering wheel: Ugly, tacky, ghetto.

I like those rims they look good IMO.. They do match the car since they are IROC rims just bigger.. The metal things over them eyebrows or whatever they are called look like crap.. Good way to hide rust though
The airbrushed IROC-Z looks pretty good. The colour I can't stand personally (isn't purple the national gay colour or something?). If it was a black car or red or anything but purple take away those eyebrow things and I would be willing to drive it. The spoiler on the red one is gay no question about it. It mades a nice clean GM Muslce car look like it was built by fisher price or something..
