My First Third Gen
This car was originally owned by a friend's cousin. I remember being in high school at the time and going to parties in the back seat of this thing (I was too young to drive at the time). When the trans went, this car sat in his driveway for years and rotted away.
I bought the car off of him for $400 and spent the winter bringing it back. This was the car after I finished it. I held onto it for a few years before selling it. Here it is. Anybody else have a cool story behind a car they've owned?

Re: My First Third Gen
I bought my car exactly one year ago for 3200 bucks. I thought it was a deal but after seeing what everyone on here paid im like wow i got ripped off. Its a 305 tbi with 142k on the clock, now 153k. Its been a rough road to get it where it is but i will prove to my parents that its not a POS. They didnt think it would make the 700 mile drive home. in the last year besides it being my DD ive fixed both headlights, swapped the rear, and fixed all electrical issues etc...... Ive treated this car well and its had my back. Ive almost done collecting the parts i need for the bodywork. 2 fenders and some gfx and im done. I will make it to thidgenfest. I want to rep NJ

Re: My First Third Gen
Well i wont lie. I Hated Camaros and Firebirds. Thought the whole idea of a V8 car was retarded. I was a Big Lifted Truck guy. Friend of mine had a 1982 or 83 Camaro z28 red/silver. 350 5 spd and auto he changed transmissions alot. well one day i was walkin to the bus as school just got out and he told me to hop in. He'd give me a ride home. even had the t-tops out. Well never the less after that ride i just HAD TO HAVE that car. the more i saw the the red/silver camaro go by the more it made me drool..... so i had to get one. and it took me 3 years. and 2005 my first car was a $2500 1988 20K rebuilt 355 TBI auto. the trans lost third a year later. bought a new 700r4 from bowtie OD's and had a Gm dealer install it to keep the warranty. all can say is THANKS MOM AND DAD. I never could have afforded that or the new paint job. the car ended up with 68K Miles in 2009 and took $12K Including the cost of the car mostly out of my parents. and i found myself avoiding a moose and over a bank.. the car sits in storage till i know what to do with it. I bought a $1800 1991 v6 auto last summer Because life just isnt the same without my Camaro.

Re: My First Third Gen
Well my 87 TA is my first 3rd gen. I always love the TA's and IROC's, but never got one till this year. I have had 2 Stangs, and alot of other vehicles. I have to say the 3rd gens are cool, but I do miss the simplisity of the Stangs to work on.
