You need to remove the old clear coat and paint as a first step. I used this brand stripper from ACE hardware...

Use a old paint can or something metal to pour it into then brush the stripper onto the wheel and watch it bubble up.

You can see how it is bubbling and peeling up. This need to be scrapped off, or brushed off with a heaver bristle brush. Don't use a plastic or sythetic bristle brush. They will melt.

You can smooth out any curb rash, and polish the metal, or brush the metal back to near original finish at this point. If you choose to re-paint the wheels you will want to mask off your tires and choose the color. I used red, for the original color.

I used Duplicolor Wax & Grease remover to remove the still wet paint from the "machined highlight" area of the wheels. This method gave me the cleanest lines.

Used Duplicolor Clear wheel paint, after everything was cleaned and perfect.

I ended up re-doing this particular wheel due to the poor job of removing some the paint from the wheel window. I figured the new paint would cover and smooth that... 5 coats later... no
