parts washer > engine bay
I've been slowly upgrading/driving my daily driver IROC while my 1LE 4th gen gets a big build. Last fall the driver head gasket went, so I had an excuse to clean everything up while I was in there. Its amazing how much a free "mod" make it nicer to work on and look at.
I fought those stupid torx bits for hours and promptly deposited them in the garbage, especially the ones I needed to weld nuts to in order to turn them out. After that, I dropped some parts in the parts washer for a few days, finished off with a bit of brake clean, added some block off plugs/plates, and prepped/painted anything that wasnt aluminum.

Re: parts washer > engine bay
While I was at it, the previous owner had some damage on the front bumper that needed some attention. I bought a new front fog light grill, scored a few used fog lights and cleaned them up, quickly sanded down the front bumper and used an exact paint match I was able to order from paintscratch.com.
broken grill, bumper, fog:

testing the paint color:

temporary fix until I remove/repaint the whole bumper over winter:

Re: parts washer > engine bay grime, plus some bumper repair
It was '89 Camaro Bright Blue Metallic WA9591 from paintscratch.com
Once I have time to take the bumper off, I'll sand it down, prep, paint, and clear the right way... but just the spray can color itself matched really well in a pinch
