Charcoal grey? How difficult is it to deal with when painting
I am currently on tha boats working but planning on finishing up body work when I get home. I am interested in painting my 1988 sport coupe camaro charcoal grey, I think it would look great with the american racing torque thrust wheels I purchased a few months back. I know the basics on how to paint a vehicle, I also know different colors are easier/harder to lay coats with, just curious on how difficult charcoal grey is to deal with? Hoping it's nothing like black, I know black shows almost any blemishes in your body work. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Re: Charcoal grey? How difficult is it to deal with when painting
Charcoal grey/gray is a metallic color. How difficult it will be to deal with will largely be determined by what type of paint you use. If you use basecoat/clearcoat, it won't be any more difficult than any other color.
If you use a single stage, it will be difficult to keep from getting "tiger stripes" and blotching of the metallics. Single stage requires more skill to spray.
Poor body work and prep work will show up with any color, black is just worse than some colors.
