Rust Removal Tips

Share your tips and tricks and products used to get arid of rust

Might be helpful too people wanting to remove rust from some stuff
notice theres no real thread dedicated to this subject

I went the cheap DIY way and used White Vinegar and soak it for day or so might be quicker and easier ways but $4 + some work + wire brush

"i should of used a bigger and taller bucket would of save time in soaking entire piece in one shot but i used what i had"

Re: Rust Removal Tips

Oxalic Acid(wood bleach) and Citric acid powder are also good for rust removal. Learned those on the Old school BMX forums.

Re: Rust Removal Tips

Phosphoric acid (coca cola) , and citric acid (lemon juice) can be used to remove rust also , you can find vinegar by the gallon for around $2 or less
VS
Spending $8 + on commercial stuff

Of course if you have larger parts then other products or a little muscle and a machine can do the job and my way isn't logical

If you have a favorite over the counter product to use or just muscle it out chime in also lol

I think it would be helpful to members trying to beautify parts
