car ride help ...plz clairfy

guys/gals,just quick question, my rear driver side sits about half a inch higher then rear right, now people tell me this is normal as its to accommodate the driver when he/she sits in car, but then i also heard the car should sit even, even without someone in the car, which is correct?

With a car this old it would not be uncommon to see it sitting that uneven. Rear springs are the same height as each other and the spring perches and shock mounts are mounted level, so the car should sit level.
