September COTM **Voting**
Ok guys! Again I got hung up over the weekend and didn't get this up on time, sorry.
So this month we have some amazing examples of stock/restored/survivor third gens. We had a couple cars not fit the description of what this months "theme" was, so please remember these guys for a future month. That being said for the cars that fit, we had an even 10 nominated and they are all going in for the vote.
Here we go!

Re: September COTM **Voting**
Thanks for the nomination, KMK!
I special ordered this car new in 1989, with a G92 performance package which included, LB9 (L98 cam), MK6 T5, 3.45 ratio 9 bolt posi, KC4 engine oil cooler and N10 dual cats. It's also a DX3 decal delete. I bought this car to be my daily driver, but things didn't exactly work out that way.
The car, currently has about 11K miles on it.
Thanks, again!
Here's a few more pics.
Below are original factory gray tire valve caps. You'd think someone would have reproduced these darned things by now:

Hey everyone, thanks for the nomination! I'm very proud of my 86 IROC and she gets a lot of attention everywhere she goes! The car has 53K original miles and was a barn find in Maryland. I've done a lot of work to this car to get her up to show quality! Thanks again and please vote for my super clean amazing car hahaha! Much better pics for you guys!

Thank you for the nomination.
This is a 1987 5.7 IROC-Z with 5,000 original miles. I purchased the car in April 2013 from the original owner after it sat up on jack stands in a garage for 18 years. The car is in excellent condition and is original down to the goodyear gatorbacks. See additional pictures.

Hi Everyone,
It is really awesome to have been nominated, thank you so much, i'm really excited!! A big thumbs up to blackgloves and 86TA355SR, thank you so much for the nomination!! Also a big congrats to everyone else who was nominated, you all have gorgeous cars!!!
I bought my first IROC 18 years ago now, an 86 that I fully restored. Car was very nice, but a few of my friends got me into the low mile stuff. After 2 years of searching the country, I bought this 87. Car currently has about 10,800+ miles on it and is completely original including the tires, floor mats, etc... everything but the battery, hood struts, and fluids. Like anything, it's not perfect, but it's an all original honest car. I have spent a bunch of time detailing it up. Love driving it to cruise nights and car shows, have had lots of fun with it so far and I have met so many nice people in the hobby with it. Car is loaded, listed for almost $22k new. I plan to spend more time this winter really detailing the heck out of it, but cant wait to take it on a few NE fall foliage cruises this September / October in the meantime.
Thank you all again! Here are a few more pics. Take Care, Erik

Re: September COTM **Voting**
Thanks everyone for considering my 1984 High Output Z-28 for COTM! I am the proud second owner of this car and have had it now for almost 5 years. It wears it's original 29 year old acrylic enamel and decal stripes and sports a 5-speed manual transmission with 3.73 gears. Mileage is now at 35,000.
A pleasure to drive and a blast from my past, as this is the SECOND blue 84 Z-28 that I've owned. My first one I drove while in high school in 1993 and sold soon after graduation. Since then I swore I'd get another, but never dreamed I'd find it's identical twin more than 15 years later.
Enjoy the pics, especially the last two! Same girl, (almost) same car....20 years later!

A few added pics. These have been seen before, but it's all I have available.
All original with 19,700 miles. The HRPT really hurts the low miles thing!! Every available option in 1987, including leather, Bose, L98 350 and it all still works!

Hard to make a decision. All these cars are incredible. Being forced to choose one, I have to give it to Russel, beautiful car, low mileage, flawless interior.

This is turning into a very cool thread! So many gorgeous 3rd gens! If anyone was ever going to do a Concours D'Elegance for 3rd gens, lots of good choices right here.

Way too tough to pick this time around. I narrowed it down to drjewalton and Scott's cars finally. ScottMoyer, I love the color of your car... it's probably tied for my favorite on these cars.
But I gotta give it to drjewalton, beautiful car and he's fairly local. guys! all of you!

All these cars are absolutely beautiful! I love seeing the original OEM cars that haven't been too over done, and stay true to the way they came from the factory! Good luck to all my fellow nominees! You all have great cars!

Re: September COTM **Voting**
I have to say that ev305tpi's car looks magnificent to me. Scott's perfectly detailed IROC-Z is always a given. And drjewalton's is such a pristine example of an early 3rd gen.
I wish I had more votes to cast!
We have so many REALLY nice factory correct 3rd gens on this site - and honestly, I don't think that they always get the attention which they deserve. Another one which comes to mind is KMK454's B4C, ( not just saying that because he nomnated me, either ).
The COTM is a cool thing, but maybe as a site and a community, we should historically document these cars in a specific section on the site. These low mile, pristine examples aren't just everywhere. That way, any future restorers can use that as a resource. I'd volunteer to help pick those cars if this were to ever happen.

I don't know if it needs it's own section or not, maybe the History/Originality forum would be a good home.
What I'm saying is, that there are specific details of these cars which can be documented from the original and unrestored cars on this site. That documentation could be a valuable future resource for our community.

Thanks! Appreciate the comments. I've said it before on this site, my next favorite third gen besides my own are the earlier blue IROC's.....pretty much like yours! Nice car yourself!
