Re: water stains on windshield

Water and vinegar solution will dissolve hard water deposits, but I don't like the idea of using an acid on my car.
I have seen detail shops use 0000 steel wool to clean windshields, no It doesn't scratch it. But then you're left with little pieces of steel wool that will rust and leave stains wherever it lies.
Clay bars are awesome for cleaning glass sparkling clean with zero drawbacks. It even polished out some fine scratches in mine. IDK how, but I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth.

Could try a dual orbital polished of the Palm sized variety with a polish. Might be worth a try.

I've used Duragloss for years and it always does the trick. If your comfortable with a buffer, poor it on the glass, spread it out with the pad and buff as if you were buffing paint (side to side, pad flat on surface). Comes out looking like new every time. Just make sure you mask your weatherstripping with tape about a half inch from the edge of the glass. Once you get the majority of the glass done, remove the tape and do the edges by hand.

Duragloss 501.... May be available @ local CarQuest. Its a great chemical cleaner. Works well on removing oxidation off of metal with steel wool.

Re: water stains on windshield

brand new steel wool 0000 with some polish that has light cutting. Don't use old wool as the rust will scratch the glass as the other person said.
