I would be all over the place taking pictures but now I realized what you guys are doing is in the adventure category.I never thought someone would shoot me for looking at his car...yell at me yes but not kill me.I'd die not even knowing why

Problem is when they see you want their car they will always ask more than is worth.Dunno a single case in which the owner will sell it for a reasonable price...they always overprice them even if they don't sell them. That kind of stupid attitude gets so many rare cars and other objects get destroyed.

You'd be surprised how those deals go down sometimes. In most of the cases where I've bought a car like that, people are tired of the car for one reason or another.

Here's a pretty good looking 'Bird that's been sitting in the same place for as long as I can remember. It's usually covered up. It's been sitting there way before I was even old enough to drive! It's in Perth, ON and there's a red Camaro that's usually parked a block away.

And here's another 'Bird that gets driven once or twice a month by a little old lady. As far as I know, she's the original owner! Nothing impressive though as it's a V6 auto car. This one's in Brockville, ON.

Crazy folks in MS also Bob. Couple years ago me and the wife just stopped side of the street to ask about a Trans Am I had seen sitting for years and got cursed out and told not to be stalking by a very angry woman. I then told her I wouldn't be stalking women out with my wife in the first place and secondly upon looking at it closer I wasn't interested anyhow. It still sits today.

I think it's been sitting so long that it is sinking into the driveway!

This shot is just from Google maps, I don't live near there any more. I did drive by a few months ago though and it was sitting there covered in snow

That's too bad. It don't look half bad either. If it's been sitting that long I wonder how many miles are even on that thing.

First time in my life I see a car sinking in the asphalt. It looks really good thou.No rust or damage plus it looks stock.

Guess she kept the car outside because the paint looks faded. She got a color that you'd expect old ladies would pick.Would be awesome if she would be on these forums .

the purple 85 was restored to show quality in the mid-late 90s but was never treated like a show car and now sits on flats and has dents and damage to almost every panel. 305 TPI, neck snapping 700R auto, posi rear, Mickey Mouse Wizard mural on the hatch lid.

Haha yeah, she can barely walk, I'm surprised she can still get in and out of the thing!

The paint is faded, but it's a rust free car and the interior is mint. I'd be surprised if there's more than 50,000 km on it.

Re: Parking Lot Paparazzi
We saw a Trans am, I'm guessing somewhere in the 85-89 area, it was pretty beat up and had a lot of things missing so I can't tell you an exact year. We pass buy it every other day, it was there for a few months, we saw it on the road a couple of times before it was parked there. Unfortunately I didn't get any pics. It wasn't in terrible shape, probably better than mine right now! Black, GTA Mesh wheels, interior was beat but nothing was cracked besides the dash. No major damage, a few dings and the driver side under door gfx was cracked.

Sad part is, about 2 weeks ago it got an orange sticker.

Violation: Abandoned.

Will be towed in 72 hours.

We put a note on it saying we would buy it if he was selling for a quick buck, and we'd get it towed(Even though I had no money and would have borrowed it from my sister ) but alas after 72 hours it was gone... It's sad seeing another 3rd gen gone.

Find out who has the towing contract from the police & buy it from the towing company. They can file a lien on the car and get a title for it.

Maybe if I had some money, but every cent I get goes to my project. Not to mention it was 2 weeks or so ago now.

Because it was parked outside someone's house, and me being 17 didn't, and probably couldn't, have gotten it very easy. I wish I had, or atleast gone a little further to knock on the guys door, but it's not in the best part of town.

Oh sorry I forgot young people in US drive. You sound older. When I was 17 i was too retarded even to get close to cars not to mention drive

reminds me of a guy here who moved to Canada and abandoned his 800series BMW.Was the v12 model which now sells for alot of money. It sat there for years and I once asked the neighbors (really old people) about the car and they said the owner sold the house and left the car there for anyone who wants it.I was too chicken to "steal" it and get papers done for it .One day I saw a towing truck from a dude who sells cars. The jerk having more guts than me simply went there and took it like it was his.It just shows how much helps in life if you are a rude piece of ****

Nah, I was working with my dad. I have my permit, but I don't really drive yet for 2 reasons. 1. Insurance is a KILLER for someone under 27. And with my parents already paying for 4 cars, 2 of which have primaries under 27, there goes me getting one anytime soon. Unless I pay for it and if I'm the primary, under 18, I'll have to sell my soul to pay for 6 months. And 2, People on the road are scary.

Now you make me wish I had just taken it. I'm sure no one would have cared..

Here in SF bay area, I see more DD Camaros then Birds !! Even In my small neighborhood guy has 2 third gen Camaro's infront of his house. One of these days ill try and snap some pics

Have talked with the car crowd around town and my work (GM Dealer) many say SF bay area is more towards the Camaro/Mustang.

I guess not much "Cali Love" for birds around here

Anyways here's one I saw at a Firestone in Chicago area back around 2010, and was a Insane rare car Norwood,T5,Digital dash and DD9 mirrors, and ULTRA RARE CC Plastic rear hatch.

I am moving to SF next week. I just accepted a job there! I will be east bay due to cost of living. My GTA will be tailored at some point within the next 6 months. I will have to have a house with a 2 car garage to store her in.
Maybe we can meet up. sorry to hear there is no love for birds there. Maybe my baby can change some minds...

Welcome to the land of "Fruits and nuts" !!!!!

Ya get ready for $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ sticker shock compared to Ohio, No matter where you live in the bay area Gas around here is $2.25-$2.50 a gallon and most cars from other states must go through a safety and SMOG inspection. That's why my 82 T/A is still back in Oklahoma for now

I live near Youtube HQ and a small a$$ 1500 SQ FT house around my neighborhood is almost $1 MIL !!!

So ya your GTA is clean !!! It will represent third gen birds very well around here.

Or mud flaps. (yeah, I know I just ticked off 20% of the members here.) Just shop for performance tires (no stones will stick in the tread of those types of tires) and stay off non-paved roads and you don't need mudflaps.

Yeah, that Roc would look awesome with a new paint job.

Quote: From 1982 until about the late nineties (98 or so) these cars were simply everywhere. However they were so abused because they were simply Americas cheapest sports car. Just about anyone could afford one. Those who couldn't afford a new one simply bought a used one 5 years old or so and STILL had a nice one. But, since they were raced and abused by most they didnt last long.

Yeah, and I wish there was a way I could search vehicle registrations to find out how many 3rd gens still survive by model and year. It'd be interesting to find out how many survivors there are and how our semi-rare cars when new may now be rare today. Maybe there's someone here in law enforcement who could search for us without getting into trouble for computer misuse on the job?

I think GM can ask that kind of informations....or some other big news company.I think if there would be a official way to ask these kind of question we would find how many are left ,at least in US.You have to remember that some are outside US and some are not even registered outside US .

Unfortunately it was closed when we were there - went to one of the resturants for a party.

In all honesty I didn't look at it much, just snapped the pick and walked on past - we were several hours late.

I figured it was one of the displays for some reason or a DARE car, but it was gone when we came out - can't be shy driving that!
