Other cars such as GM "G" bodies and 2nd gen "F" also got T top, but due to such high take rate (30% ???), 3rd gens will be remembered for the T top body style.


I don't ever see a possibility that T top will ever make a comeback. Quality in design of both hard and soft top modern convertibles is just too good. Too bad. T tops are just awesome, in fact my old sensitive neck prefers T top over convertible.

welcome..it will improve the sound..just don't expect a lot of improvement!

You forgot Fox bodies, C3's and even some Chryslers (those are rare).

 

If I were you, I'd close up the sides so you don't get sun fading on the car.

 

Yeah, the plan is to pour a pad in there and bring the sides on down.

 

 

Holey crap that car is sharp. Don't sell that thing, the next buyer might do something stupid and repaint it black, maroon, or some other popular color.

Thanks. I'm the original owner so at this point I don't plan to sell it. My youngest son (18) has become very interested in cars and most likely it will someday be passed on to him.

I still love driving this car. Nothing better than with the tops off and the wind in your hair.

That Is another members car, the white one is mine. The Iroc is as clean or cleaner, ABUBACA had really done a number on it. Haven't seen him or it in years.

T-top off, so epic of these third gen!

 

 

I respect your opinion, and ttops are great fun but being the current owner of 2 convertible mustangs, and this ttop camaro I can confirm that rolling down the interstate with the top up/in and AC blasting feels 10 times better lol. But when the temperature is just right on a fall or spring day, or even a summer night tops out/down is the best thing ever. But if I had a hard top with working AC I wouldn't trade it for nothing lol. Can't wait to get AC blowing in the Camaro again.

 

 

Here's my '83Z. I know there's a lot of complaints about t-tops, but I love it.

 

 

Here's my 1987. I would take T-Tops over Convertables any day. But that's just my choice.

 

I was really starting to question your post, calling your car a "GTA", because it looks look a Turbo Trans Am to me. Then I saw the intake runners under the hood and was like, "Oh... nevermind."
