Need input before I paint the bay!

Tomorrow I'm starting to prep the engine bay so I can paint it... I have a big roll of carbon stick on vinyl stuff that I haven't touched, and I'm considering using it to cover the big flat piece in the nose where the hood latch is... I just don't want it to look tacky, but I feel painting it will be too much satin black in the engine bay if I don't.

I guess do a mock-up and see how it looks.

Out of curiosity, are you doing a single stage or two stage paint for the engine bay?
