Kewl Polls, Lets have the greates Poll Of All. Camaro or Firebird
the people that made firebird arent smart.the more power options in a car.the more there is to go wrong.thats why new cars suck.power antenna.then it goes bad and you spend more money trying to fix it.pop up lights.go bad then it needs to be fixed.ya get my point.just proves camaro is the better car and is designed not to have things go wrong to spend more money on it.you ever hear what pontiac stants for.poor old n*gger thought it was a caddy.nothing racist but thats what everyone i know says

someone please lock this thread before I lose my Christmas spirit and set this newbie straight!!
After making that last staement, I would stop putting my huge picture in the signature...I wouldnt consider that as a reference to the camaro platform...And, also, just a suggestion, I wouldnt go around and say things like you did about what pontiac stands for. that aint cool...... if this topic has been worn out this much that this is all there is left to be said, then it is time to move on...
once again, Merry Christmas

Well, I guess the poll proved the winning car... well, unless your ONEFINE8T9, then the poll meant nothing as do anyone else opinions. It his or no ones and that's the only way it can be. After all, he paid more than anyone else, he only feels that his should be better.
Sort of like when you go buy a new cobra for 34K and your out crusing around and your nearest Z28 kicks your *** while only costing 24k. You figure if you say your interior is nicer, and you have more options and it'll keep it's value longer (should, it cost more)... it'll make you feel a little better about paying more.

People, People, please...
Come on boys and girls....can't we all get along.
Both are great cars... some of the best ever made... now if I said that on a Rustang board I would be lynched... but this is a great board for the 3rd Gen F Bodies , with the emphasis on F Bodies! I personally like Camaro, why? Who knows...just my taste... I will agree that Pontiacs come with more features and on the top end cars a nicer interior (ever sit in a fully loaded GTA?)... even all the Camaro owners here have to admit that the seats are nicer... but you get what you pay for. And let's be honest... we are all driving 10 year old cars (at the minimum) and 20 year old cars on the outside... unless you bought your car brand new then all this talk about "what is more expensive" is kinda of a moot point. If we took a poll on the price people paid for their cars (not the value because I know lots of people have put a lot of time and money into their rides) I would have to say it wouldn't come close to the price of a new Camaro or Firebird.
So let's all have a drink and have a Happy Holidays
hehehe
Peace

You lost me on the last one. In every subject you talk about how trans ams and such cost more. That's why you feel they are better, followed by a long list of opinions that mean nothing. But when someone shows above that camaros are more liked, you assume it's because it's a cheaper car. It has nothing to do with price, the price difference is not enough to make people choose (in your terms) an uglier car. As I've stated above, you assume your car is better simply because it costs more from the factory. Fact is, that means all of nothing. There are plenty of cars that cost more than a Z06, but it'll whip them in every possible thing. But the people who pay more... "well, they're better I paid more".
Then you post your car... hoping for???
No clue.

ions ur just pissed u dumped all ur money into the inferior car. I cant see what the confusion is, but i am glad there are guys like u to clear that up for me. So let me get this strait.......u pay for more but u get less, but u pay for less but u get more??? well i am glad u cleard that up for me. I mean i must be totally nuts, a car with more options and overall better quality costing more??? what the hell am i thinking.......i must have been on crack thinking more people would own a cheaper car too
simply to show you what real cars look like
BTW options mean nothing when u drive a car that doesnt have them

You got me. I dropped money into my "inferior car"... I could have had that "ungodly perfect so many more options firebird, but I choose the one that looks better (opinion)
I'll write it this way since you don't seem to understand the opinion vs. fact arguement. It's a little tricky.
The poll above: Opinion, base on a large amount of people.
Firebird looks better: Opinion
Camaro looks better: Opinion
Firebird has better interior: Opinion (yes I've seen them)
Camaro is faster 1/4: Fact, but how much is the question?
Firebird has more options: Fact
Camaro has more heritage: Fact
So, lets see what it comes down to. I drive around in my "inferior" car that in most people think look better. But you know, ricers think their cars look good too, so I don't see why you can't think the same. Even if majority doesn't agree with you.

good point ions.and you do have a nice car.unlike the ones guys firebird.that is a pos if ive ever seen one.i would never waste my money on a firebird.just to make a point which came first.always the best b/c its the longer lasting car.so it is naturally better all around.who cars about interior.if you do what your supposed to you only have the drivers seat anyways.they are not made for toating people around.well musclecars arent.i guess u can in a firebird b/c they are ***** mobiles.so just proves my point.muscle cars are made for speed.interior is for cars that lack in something.there ya go.point made
76 camaro's are BETTER

Alright, I'll make my final post on this one.
Wouldn't say that, his red one looks nice, just needs some new wheels.
There are both nice firebirds and camaros on this board. It's all opinion based, some he doesn't seem to realize. He bases stuff on what is cost from the factory and assume because it costs more it must be better. In which case, an Aztek beats every car, as it costs around the same price or more than our cars, as originals. Hell, they've got more options and nicer interior as well, it's obvious they are the better car. Let us all go sell our cars, it doesn't matter if it's ugly, it's got more options and nicer interior.
In the end, there are nice firebirds and nice camaros here. I could have had either without a problem, I choose the one I always wanted a 91-92Z. It was opinion based. I think it looks better, majority does, but despite what the majority thinks... it's still an opinion. Opinions don't win arguements as seen above. Hell, polls can't even solve anything today. I'm done now, I'll be off driving in my "inferior car", enjoy.

This is getting a bit redundant, lol. "Firebird is better!" "No, camaro is better!" "But mine has nicer interior!" "Mine has a better air intake!" Personally, I find it funny.
Even though all of our opinions are bound to be different, that's okay. Let's just stop at saying both are great cars. I love both firebirds and camaros and would be proud to drive either of the two.
And 86Street, there is no "w" in pontiac and the saying ends "thinks it's a cadillac".

ok ok i was just kidding up there... i like Firebirds and Camaros the same... they both have advantages and disadvantages over each other,
like the firebirds lower sharper hood that gives beter aerodynamics
and the camaros having a little more engine space

well...to all of the camaro owners.....
this is not the first time this post has been made. The fact is, camaro owners make up maybe 2 to 1 of firebird owners. Especially on this board.
Camaro's are the main stream. and that is exactly the way I like it. When I am at the gas station, when the clerk asks me what car I drive to turn on the pump, they say, "nevermind, you are in the black camaro?" And my reply is, yeah, the black firebird. and they always say, "oh, i wasnt looking close enough"
Camaros and mustangs are a dime a dozen...really they are..but the FACT is, I see more well kept Firebirds on the road than i see rustbucket berlinetta's and camaros. I have owned both, and I have recieved more second glances with my Formula than I have with the camaro. The bull$hit argue about the quarter mile stuff is a waste of time. And in the REAL WORLD doesnt matter.
I would like to meet that "f_ck" on the road that says Pontiacs are a pu$$y car, because my friend, you might be new to the board, but you have alot to learn about keeping certain things to your self. This poll was not meant to become personal. But when you start making that way, well lets just say, its time to switch gears.....

oh yeah....red interior really is fuggin ugly as sin. I couldnt sleep at night... Maybe instead of blowing 500.00 on a hood that isnt functionable, maybe a interior redo is in order. oh yeah, that cowl is the reason for the quarter mile gain huh
stupid f_ck
stupid f_ck
well see i said what i did b/c of my friend.he gets really defensive as do you.i said it as a joke.but im not so sure now.so u dont like my interior or the hood.i bought it that way numb nuts.so learn your facts before you talk sh*t.its that simple.you got some more to say.i will keep coming back.so go for it.plus i got mine for so cheap.i couldnt complain.that hood is a fourth of what i paid for the car.and it now has 700 miles on it.so just get it right dumba$$.*** no wonder you drive a firebird.look how stupid you are to begin with.
Calm down i am KIDDING!!
i have nothing against firebirds.they are the same car.it just it a matter of opinion.

HAHAHA!!
looks like someones hole card has been pulled!!
Number one, I could care less how much you back talk or how much time you want to waste on a subject like this that is going no where.
I also do not care where you got that camaro from, or what condition you got it in or how CHEAP it was. That stuff doesnt matter to me... I would much rather be driving My Formula than that thing anyway...
I am not your friend, so....dont assume that what you say here will go over the same as it does with him. When you make remarks like you have, be prepared to back them up....I have been out of high school for awhile, please do not make me stoop to your level. Just remember, santa will not come to your house untill you go to sleep....so...nighty night....
just remember, try not to make things so personal next time...

right i know.it was a joke.and i didnt think so many people would be offended.specifically you.they came off the same line.thats how i look at it.i mean if i ever need a new door i can take one off a firebird and be just fine.so its just a matter of opinion.and i am glad at how CHEAP i got my car.for how much it is truely worth.parts and all.and tranny and all that good stuff.so just calm down and dont talk **** about my car.i never said anything specific about yours so dont go into detail on mine.its my car.so i could care less if u like it or not.it gets looks and its good at car shows.not worried about the ladies b/c i am engaged and next the damn girls like the rice burners now anyways.so either way i could care less.its my car not yours and its not a mustang.plain and simple.

90 formula id love to be able to be all cool about this in lue of xmas and all but he disrespected my car before i said a thing aout his, on top of that he has one of the ugliest third gen camaros i have ever seen, hey 86 street, u ever come to think why the guy sold his car for 700???
question.when u have tires that big and STILL cant get traction.i guess you dont have an OZ of power as you say.it was all a joke.i said sorry.but now u had to start some more.my ***.i guess there are childish people out there.im done before i say something that might get me introuble.but let me race your "fully restored, mint condition firebird" and then we'll see who doesnt have power.just think about it.its more that just a 350.with the intake.carb.and the rims werent cheap either ****.and i bet at a show i get more looks than your "fully restored, mint condition firebird".thank you
Camaro!!! Tailights are cool... and the front end has that grill that just looks like it's smirking at any car that dares to go slow enough to let me get up on their butt... especially ricers and sh*tstangs... but the new Trans Am does have that something about it... bah! I'd be happy just owning either one!

This post is very interesing, thats for sure. Many good points made from both sides. But they are both nice cars and both have their good things and both have their bad things.
I know man it's cool with me. I would prob. trade my car for a 91-92z like Ions91Z28. I love the 91-92z's like I love my T/A. I also like the Iroc's like yours also. So no matter you guys drive you all pretty cool IMO. I wouldn't care if you drove a VW.lol

metallicamaro im just gettin sick of seeing camaros everywhere and for people to say its better becouse its more of a stripped down car just sickens me. I never had n e thing against camaros, hell i have helped build a couple third gen camaros in my time with dealing with thirdgens, but it really annoys me when people try insulting me

The firebird owners are outnumbered two to one on this board, if not 3 to 1... doesnt bother me I don't want to own the exact same car as most of you boneheads anyway.
If I did I'd own three 87 Iroc's.
If I did I'd own three 87 Iroc's.
LOL if anyone actually believes the Camaro has more horsepower than the Firebird because of the ADVERTISED power ratings, I have to wonder if they believe everything they read. GM listed so many different power ratings for the Firebirds and conflicting information that none of it can be verified. Fact is that people have run Camaros and Firebirds that were equipped the same and they ran the same times. 5-10hp is going to make about as much difference going down the quarter mile as that double cheeseburger that you had at lunch with a king size fry and bladder buster coke instead of the grilled chicken with onion rings. More performance variation can be attributed to weight and options then the intake. The Camaro TPI intake is NARROW, at its tightest point, every bit as tight as the Firebirds. An air intake only flows as well as its worst flowing area, both fbodies have problems with the intake paths.

Hmmm...
In my opinion it counts what generation and model. For the 3rd gen F-bodies. THe camaro looks better all the time. But the GTA firebird was very nice. Pretty much equal with the 91-92 Z28 look. But as for the 4th gen. The camaro looked good from the earlier models. BUt toward the end of the 4th gen the firebird looked bad ***! If I had the money I would get a 98-2002 Camaro and put a WS6 front with the factory lip. Damn...that would be so nice....
Most all of you firbird owners are the same.....I have talked with people from all the generations and all the firbirds owners have to say is how much better they are then the Camaros.....I still think that just because they cost more they have to go around and try to justify why they spent more on a car then they had to.....This should be locked because it is stupid......oh and yeah....why do you think there are are more camaros.....how about they appeal to the public better then the Firbird....you can't prove that the other way around.......
OneFine like i told you about 6 months ago.....

I voted Firebird because..... I had it first
Strip the skin & interior away & the cars are nearly 100% the same (cross reference part numbers if you like).
Pull the same stock motor from each car & check the power #'s. Did Chevy detune the L98 (or other motors) when they shipped them over to Pontiac (I dunno) ? I seriously doubt it. The only difference would be, as pointed out, in the intake track. Either way they're pretty bad on both cars due to the limited space.
So what, deep down, is left to make one better than the other ? Nothing really since they are made from one shell/platfrom, just reskinned to be a different looking car. Even suspension/drivetrain parts were the same, so the one car having the better ride is more opinion than fact, part numbers don't lie.
As Drew pointed out, Camaro owners outnumber Firebird owners here so the poll is going to obviously favour Camaro's, the poll IMO, proves nothing as far as "superior" vehicle (which it didn't ask which was in the 1st place), it just shows there's more Camaro owners (thus people voting Camaro) on the board.
I've always like the 'birds a little better for thier somewhat more sleek & refined outward appearance. Sort of like a big cat waiting to pounce it's prey as opposed the the more bold, in your face, rottweiler approach the camaro gives off. But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong. Merry Xmass all
ImportsR... was that really necessary ?
