Cowl Hood question
I have but I am not proud of. I did this while working at a body shop some years ago for a guy that could not get a cowl hood for his car. I used all the best materials and it was very expensive and labor intensive. The scoops are intended to be moulded to a 'glass hood and i would not reccomend doing it to stock (metal) hood. I feel that by the time you purchaced all the correct materials and counted about half of your time you could buy a very nice 'glass hood.

Thanks, thats all I needed to know. It looked like it would have been the way to go...just molding a 60 dollor cowl on, instead of buying a 400 dollar hood.
Camrs89 and myself put a scoop on a metal hood, I think its the sc-108 actually. We don't know for sure it came with the car. Anyway, just working on it during free time we managed to put it on and smooth it to the point of it almost looking 1 piece (from the top). If the post dosen't catch his attention I'll get him in here to explain what we did, since its for his car and he actually did most of the work. I'll just say it came out good.
yea it does look nice. just put paint on it and you wont be able to tell the difference. Mine is the fiberglass 4in" cowl hood. i didnt pay for it.. i got the car like that..so i am fine with what i got..but i would have just made one if i didnt get the car with it.
