how do u take off the plat around an automatic shifter??

how do u take off the plat around an automatic shifter??
The other day i wanted to take the plate off under tmy automatic shifter in m 87 caaro s i could clean around nd under it but since it doesnt go over the shft **** i coldnt take itoff so how do u get itoff??

on the front of the shifter there will be like a little pin, u want to get something like an all or a flat head screw driver and pull the pin out of the shifter ball. It will than slide right off. Once this is complete than take the 4 torx bot screws off that are on the actual plate itself and walah.............its off
