This thread is a Nomination Thread to nominate cars that will compete for this month's Car of the Month honor. The 12 (or less) most popularly nominated cars will be compiled into a *Voting Thread* in a couple of weeks. If you do not nominate a member's car for COTM, you can still second or third (fourth, fifth, so on) someone else's nomination. Cars must have at least a second nomination in order to make the Voting Thread.
Do not nominate your own car. Your car must be nominated by another TGO Member.
Do not ask your wife, husband, friends, extended family, etc. to register as TGO Members for the purpose of nominating your car.
Do not nominate more than one car.
Do not use multiple member accounts to nominate your own car or to nominate multiple cars.
This is not a picture thread. Post only one (1) good photo of the car you wish to nominate. Do not use unrealistic, overly-processed images.
You must post a picture with your nomination. This must be a full-sized picture (or at the very least, a pic or thumb that enlarges into a full-sized picture when you click on it).
Correctly identify the user name of the member who you nominate.[This includes capitalization and spacing].
Correctly identify the year and model/trim of the car you nominate.
Do not nominate cars that are not in a high quality, finished state.
And if you are nominated, please DO go out and take an abundance of good quality photos of your ride (multiple angles, interior, engine) and make them publicly accessible (for example via a photo album in your public profile or some sort of hyperlink to your photo album).
*****This Month's Criteria*****
500 Horsepower.
Any 1982-92 Camaro or Firebird with a proven (or likely) 500 or more crank horsepower.
**Please include a brief technical description of the power plant with your nomination so a determination can be made that it has a likely output of 500 cranking horsepower.**
*Chazman, please edit your post to include a brief description of the powerplant.*
500 HP ???
well that eliminates a bunch of cars.....
Of course. I nearly went with 400 as the number, but felt that that was murkier as far as meeting the "likelihood" standard - i.e. "you say it's 400, most of us think its more like 320".
Speaking of the likelihood standard, we're not here to get "into the weeds" on what makes an exact 500 horsepower and not a pony less. I think there are enough people here, myself included, who have fair, educated opinions on what would put a car "in that performance category".
I nominate 427seven's 1989 Firebird GTA. Someone please post a pic for me please.....
He's running a 427 Motown crate engine, advertised at 550 horsepower, and has a miniram sitting on top of it. God only knows what size camshaft, but considering the extensive work to the car, I would have to assume, with is being a safe assumption, that the engine.easily makes 550 horsepower.

I would like to nominate Fasteddi and his 91 RS coupe, He built a 12 sec turbo V6 (original engine) then he dropped in and built this 385 v8. My criteria for 500 hp is a 10,73 sec @ 125,3 MPH. You guys can correct me if wrong but I think it will take at least 500 to turn that ET!

I'll nominate Linson. He does all the work to put this on every month....and he is a member of the 500hp club. He's got an awesome 89 Formula 350, with a 550hp 6.2 LS3
Easy as pie. Pretty much everybody with a real 500+ Hp has a dyno sheet or a 1/4 mile time slip squirreled away somewhere to prove it. It's just the nature of that kind of person with veeeeeery few exceptions. People with no proof are more than likely dreamers or posers. And of course the big power builds stand out as obvious so no question about those.
