cleaning tpi

I would like to get my intake plenum and runners the same color as they were new. I have tried simple green and other cleaners but they haven't done the trick. I don't want them polished just the clean grey look. Right now they have black spots and are just discolored. Any ideas? thanks, jimmy

Take them off and have them bead blasted with alum oxide. I believe that is the one that makes almost a factory grey color. Some will turn them white..which looks ugly to me.

I just sandblasted my control arms with aluminum oxide, and i thought it made a finish very much like that of the cast plenum and runners. The color of the bare metal was right on, but i think the texture may have been a bit smoother than the cast texture.

Did you do that yourself? Was it hard?
