My trans ams paint is really faded on the hood, A pillars, area behind ttops and spoiler and figuring since the rest of the cars paint still shines and looks really good i thought I could just order a few cans of touch up paint in the correct color and sand and paint the problem areas. My second option was to get a macco paint job and either repaint it the original blue or white, what do y’all think?
Stay with the original color. Save your $ and get a professional paint job and you will be happy with it. Looks like a very nice solid car its gona be real sharp!
It looks like the clearcoat has failed; trying to fix it with rattle cans won't provide results that look good closer than 20 feet. The car appears to be in good shape, at least as much as can be seen in the pic; it deserves a proper repaint.
As above, if you go that route (a new paint job), it would be best to stick with the factory color.
I'm a professional painter. Please, PLEASE just save up some cash and fix your car the right way. A rattle can paint job will only make it more expensive to fix it right, after you see the results from the rattle can job and are unhappy with it. Your car looks WAAAYYYY too nice to take a major short cut like that. And I'd also vote to keep it the original blue. That's a GREAT color combo you have!
And, FWIW, I can imagine that the not so perfect paint bothers you to look at, but id say that 99 out of 100 people on this board would rather see an original car with some patina, rather than a car with some spray paint touch ups.
