Painting engine bay

Hey guys!

well my engine is out of my car and i'm about to paint the engine bay. I was thinking of just spraying it semi-gloss black, what do you guys think?

should I paint the firewall polo green metallic same color as my car? I don't have access to spray gun or anything so it will be spray cans unfortunately. anyone have good luck with using these? I figure 3-4 light coats of the paint followed by 3-4 light coats of clear should work.

Not looking for show quality here just want to clean everything up

any tips/ideas would be greatly appreciated... i'm doing this tomorrow afternoon so q uick responses would be SWEET.

Thanks guys,
Garett

I think the black is a good idea, it will hide the dirt later when things start to get messy under there.

Its more of a personal preference but I liek to undercoat the engine compartment, beacuse it requires no up-keep, looks pretty good, and will deaden sound somewhat. My freind and I are building a 66 mustang and we under coated the entire engine bay, transmission tunnel, innner fender wells, frame rails, and we're even gonna do the bottom of the hood. We also did the entire floor pans and the trunk is next. One thing is for sure, that thing will not rust!! It should cut down on road noise alot.
