k1 evo interior for f-body
I though about getting the k1 evo interior kit for my 92 Z. I dont want the body f/x, just the interior. 2001 seats alone cost good money. why not just buy the kit. It would be different and I would have the classic f-body outside. not that the k1 kits are not cool, but I think once you change to the k1 evo f/x kit it just is'nt a f-body any more
The k1 interior kit will be one of the first things im gonna do to my project camaro. I always thought the stock 3rd gen Camaro interior was too blocky with too many edges and corners. The k1 kit is alot smoother. Its good that you have a 92 cuz the pre 91 instrament cluster and surrounding panels (cig lighter, driving lights switch) look like crap next to the K1 kit. If you look at the K1 website they show the kit on what looks to be a 90 or earlier Camaro (look by the cig lighter) and you can really see the difference between the two styles. I plan to install the kit painted black with forrest green accents around the A/C vents and some of the panels. First i'm going to gut the interior and dynamat. Then I'm going to recarpet it black and redo the headliner black with some flame accents I'm gonna do. For seats im going with black Sparco's with 5 pt harnesses. I'm also going to do a black momo steeringwheel, race style pedals, and a carbon fiber shift ****. In the console I plan to run a 6.5 inch LCD screen hooked to a camera mounted at the top of the hatch (inside) for a rear view mirror. Then I'm gonna do a full sounds install with the Kenwood Z828 mp3 deck, 2 sets of seperates (5 and 1/4's in the kickpanel and 6" in the 6x9 spot), 3 amps, 2 12" subs, a sound processor and a cap. I'm going to leave the back seats in but prolly have to remove then when I get the rollcage installed.

hey crazy hawaiian
sounds cool. when putting a combo together like interior, or paint and ground f/x a person has to be choosey. a project can turn out wack
seen to many screw up cars and just have to shake my head. but it sounds like you got it going with your combo. would like to see pics when you get done. also if you could post pics of different stages of the interior. that would be cool.
p.s. about the screwed up cars i said i had seen, i know everyone has their opinion and taste. thats what makes custom rides cool and sets us apart form "plane jane rides". i just think we have to plan and be choosey about our projects to end up with the ultimit ride. hope no one takes offence.

IMHO that K1 interior is the ugliest interior I have seen. But, they also always make it body color matching and velvet and crap. I would do a 4th gen interior way over a K1 interior.
BTW, Hawaiian, if you have any specific questions about the Evo, shoot me a Private Message.
