good deal?

my friend has a fiberglass cowl hood (pin on type)
he said he'll sell it to me for $40

is there anyway i can rig the back so i can use hinges???

i'd prefer that, cuz i dont mind having to lift it off, i just dont like the two rear hood pins (looks gaudy)

I'm sure it is too flimsy to modify to fit hinges. For $40 go for it, and use it until you can afford a better one, then sell it. Or just sell it at a profit. Maybe you could change it over to accept Dzus fasteners? Those look much cleaner, and can be painted or powdercoated too.

The ones you would be interested in are the self ejecting ones. Most speed shops or racing supply shops should be able to order some for you if they don't already have them in stock. They are commonly used to hold body panels onto race cars.
