Thinking of buying a 4th Gen TA?!??!
Im thinkin of buying a 4th Gen Trans Am, either WS6 or Convertible... Im 18 and just got a new job paying 18 an hour (Canadian Funds) and am able to take out a 20000 dollar loan.... Im thinkin im gunna get one between the 1995-98 range... My buddy just bought a 1995 TA Convertible and I fell in love with it... I also really love my IROC tho... His TA is loaded with leather interior, and that LT1 is pretty quick with an automatic, but I want the 6 speed T56... I really dont want to get rid of the IROC, I wish I could keep em both.... But I wouldnt be able to afford insurance on both... My IROC has a freshly built 383 Stroker @ 460 hp, performance tranny built by some place in St. Catharines, has B&M stage 2 kit, independant valve body, corvette servos, etc.. 3000 into tranny... Brand new paint 2 weeks ago, medium quasar blue... Its an 85.. But mint... With chrome 17 inch mags... Stock interior with seat covers... But its mint, no rips... Lights covers... 4 new ZR tires not even on it yet... All stock car audio because Im keeping my 4 15's... T Tops... 68000k on body... Never seen a winter... Tinted... The only flaw on the whole car is the rubber strip that is on the side of the t tops is starting to wear off... Im sure I can buy new rubber for like 20 bucks from the dealer.... Im going to get pictures soon... But from what I tell u, how much do u think i could get for this baby? I'll be selling it in the spring when everyone wants nice summer cars... Anyone have any offers? Also, there is not one place on the whole car that has rust on it.. Not one spot... Took all ground effects off to check fo anything... Nothing at all... The only body work done to it was to fill in the holes where the old spoiler was.. It has the 91-92 high rise spoiler...

Well, if your going to get a fourth gen. Don't waste your time with the LT1. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice engine and all, but nothing in comparison to the LS1. Which you said 98. So go straight for that one.
460 horses... what did you run?

I agree, get an LS1. It doesn't take much to make an L98 run with a LT1(on the street at least). I'm happy with my car, but sometimes I think I should quit wasting money on the L98 and save for an LS1 car. I've always wanted a 98 WS6 anyway. That's my opinion.
