Cleaning the back side of IROC rims??

Hi guys, got a quick question. Since my rims are sitting in the garage I attempted to clean the back side of my IROC's rims. Well lets just say at first I thought that black was the color of the back of them. But upon further scrubbing, I noticed that they too are supposed to be nice and clean aluminum looking. Well I have simple green and mothers aluminum polish. Should I just keep going at it until they are done or what. Anything I can use to eat up that black crap that has been on the rims for 15 or so years??? What kind of brush or scrubber should I use? Thanks guys!!:hail:

Oh yeah here is a pic of what they look like after scubbing for like 20 mins, it's a brownish color....

Doesn't everyone do this? A plastic bristled brush (tooth brush, scrub brush, etc) with soapy water works wonders. Castrol Super Clean cut 1 part SC to 2 parts water works to cut the grease and brake dust. Be sure to stretch before you do this, you'll be hunched over for a few hours. Once they're clean just spray thru the holes and from the opposite side of the car when you wash it to keep them clean.

I used SOS brillo pads w/water and they worked pretty good.

3000 psi pressure washer with hot water makes this about a 5 minute job.
