97 cobra wheels on a thirdgen?
my buddy is going to give me the wheels that come stock on the 97 mustang cobra's and since they are five lug i was wondering how i would go about getting them to work on my car. i would need adapters i would think. i'm wondering cuz i like the style of the wheel and im looking for something along those lines (17x9) since they would look a trillion times better then the stock z28 wheels i am stuck with. does anyone know what id be going through to get them to fit? The style rims can be seen here http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...280906&r=0&t=0
and a pic of my car
maybe someone can photoshop them onto my car? i was at first wanting torque thrust 2's but since im getting these for nothing why not try them you know

If you dont want to go with wheel spacers try this link. model #280 are the same with the proper 5X4 3/4 bolt cir.

I'd vote no. Since those wheels are too easily identifiable as Ford wheels... it would be too hokey. At least the Cobra R aftermarket wheels are sort of generic and you can pull it off, but those should only be on a Ford.

since i already have them, how would i go about bolting them onto my car? its worth a shot and im not worried about people asking me why i have cobra wheels on my car. after all, they dont say ford or mustang or cobra on them at all i can easily say they aren't, and even then im not too worried about people's comments, i usually get ragged on for fixing up a 1987 camaro.

Free rims? I'd jump on it. I actually think that the rims would look neat on there, the question is: is the bolt circle correct?
Try it, might be worth a shot.

what is the bolt pattern for the camaro wheels? i know the offset is probably totally different, but if the bolt pattern is different wouldnt i be able to just install adapters?
I like the look of them as well. The actual ford rims wont fit your car but if you want that exact same style check out www.performancewheeloutlet.com They have some nice knockoff (Milan's) in the chevy boltpatern but they are made for 4th gen camaro backspacing/offsets (thats right you will need to run adapters). For my daily driver camaro, I'm going to be going with a set of the vortec Z's (y2k cobra r knockoffs minus the ford caps) in 17x8.5's all around. They come in the correct backspacing/offset for a bolt-on fit (important if I'm gonna be drifting alot). I say forget what everyone says and just get what you like.
