They also didn't paint the TTop rails black. I commented to sunstar that the quality could've been a little better. The Pace Car is good with the headlight pockets being painted. The exhaust was designed very crappy on them also.

Does anyone make any 3rd gen Firebirds like these. I have never seen any.

I found one of these at a Toy Liquidators outlet here in CA. It was only like $15, but I had to hunt for like 3 months to find one. They've very cool though.
Now this thread is right up my alley! :hail: I am a diecast nut. I have around 200 or so 1/18th scale cars and trucks. I don't think that there are any 1/18th scale 3rd gens out there, other than the 1/18th plastic Knight Rider car that was was sold in 85' I have personaly seen 1/24th scale 3rd gen Firebirds and Camaros everywhere, even the 91-92 Birds with the aero gfx. I have seen a few of them on eBay. I recently finished a 1/18th project car that I have been working on. I orginaly had two black 69 Baldwin Motion Camaros. I also had a purple ****** with a blower sticking out of the hood and fats in the back and skinnies up front. My idea was to put the engine in the Camaro along with the fats and skinnies. I got the good ol' dremel tool out and went to work. I first took off the stock wheels off of the Camaro and placed the ****** wheels on the Camaro. The tires being bigger in the back caused the front to nearly scrape the ground, what a perfect stance! Next was gonna be the engine removal. I removed both engines and re-worked and painted the engine bay on the Camaro. Such things as, I painted the black radiator silver, making it look like a racing one and painted other little small details to make it more realistic. I then painted certain parts on the engine itself to make it more realistic. I then placed the engine in and OMG! I got chill bumps from that, it looked totaly awesome! I then cut some of that "plastic mirror" stuff and placed it in the engine compartment. One piece on the fire wall, one on each side and a piece along the top of the radiator. Talk about freakin awesome! The next step was gonna be what I wanted to do about the hood. The car looked good as is, but I wanted to do something with the hood. Because of the blower sticking out there was not enough clearance for the hood. I decided to cut a rectangle in the hood so that when you placed the hood on the car the blower would stick out of the hood. I acomplished that! It looked awesome! I even placed a NOS tank in the inside of the car. I know you want to see pics. I will see what I can do about that
The car looks as if it was bought that way. I have on order new stickers for the car. I can not believe that they sell customized 1/18 tags to go on these small cars. I ordered Ga tags that have 1OFAKND (1 Of A Kind) This is truly one of a kind my friends. 1 OF 1! So if you find a model that you would like to change, it is possible. You can even paint the headlight buckets black if you wanted to on those Camaros. Oh and guess whats on eBay now? The Charger off of The Fast and the Furious! Detal all the way up to the radio antenna! I bought one!

I would deffinately pay for one if they had one that looked like my car. I would be willing to pay more if I could get one made to look exactly like my car. I know if I tried to paint it different myself I would mess it up and I would need a hard top. Look pretty good though, I'll have to look in stores around me for some models and see what I find.

I was referring to FIREBIRDS. Take note and read a little further. A quote from me "other than the 1/18th plastic Knight Rider version" I do not know of any other 1/18th scale 3rd gen Firebirds. I KNOW they have those camaros. I have all 4 of them.

Yes, I have seen them. But they are the 1/24th scale version made of diecast/plastic. I have never seen 3rd gen Firebirds in 1/18th (there you go Scott
) other than the plastic Knight Rider version sold in 85.
) other than the plastic Knight Rider version sold in 85. http://www.diecastmuscle.com is cheaper than the link at the top of the page, $20 each red/white/blue, $22 pace car. Good company, I've dealt with them for years.

I have the red one. It pretty good quality stuff for 20 bucks. The engine and underside aren't extremely detailed but the interior is decent. i can post some pics if you want..

I had a couple 91 formula models 1:24 but, no 88-89 I have been looking for a 91 formula again and a 82-90 firebird so I can mod it to look like a 88 I even have a zr1 vette that I will take the brakes from to look just like mine.
