they look like crap at night

Autometer makes cheap gauges, with horrible lighting and poor accuracy, but they're cheap.. ( I have 3 in my car..)

I don't have a pic, but i'll describe it th ebest I can..
it has the ever so popular 2 colored condoms for the bulb, green and red.. I run mine without one, and it's pretty bright.
it lights up around the inside of the outer ring, right between the back material and the bezel.

Doesn't look too good IMO, but they work. (for a while...)

How much are you looking to spend? I spent over $400 on my Classics but they are well worth it.

Quit buying the "autogage" series and maybe you wont get crappy gauges, and get some decent bulbs and they'll light up nicely, I cant get any good pics but i'm using blue LED's for mine and they look sweeeeeeeet lit up.

Every Autometer I have owned, electrical and mechanical, has been accurate when compared to another mechanical gauge.

Does anyone else here have another company they favor? I personally think all other gauges are ugly.

Autometer gauges are some of the best gauges out there. What do you think they use in most every stock car there is? If you know of a better gauge, I'd like to hear it. By the way, VDO gauges, besides originating in marine world, are no better than Autometer gauges if thats what you were thinking.

I have the Ultra-Lite Series

They look good day and night. I have a 92 Camaro so without the gel-covers the lighting matched the yellow guages well. I have absolutley no problem seeing my guages at night, so i dont know what that other guy was even talking about. I have the Water Temp and Air-Fuel electrical guages. Ill try and get a night shot and show you them....

I am kinda curious how they look at night. I just spent close to $700 for my speedo, tach, fuel, oil, h2o, and volt gauges. It will be awhile before I get them in. I need a custom made dash insert, and my time right now is very limited.

I've got the Phantom Series A/F Gauge and Boost Gauge in my car. using the red condom on the Boost gauge, it is easy to read at night.
