Van Nueys piant
I was wondering if it was possible to get it your car re-painted if it came from the Van Nueys factory and had evident signs that it was bad paint that causes the chipping. If so, how do I go about doing it? Does it have to be under warranty? I'm guessing so, but ya never know....any info would be helpful. I'll attach a pic so you can see my crappy paint from those punks.

My car was painted in Van Nuys but, I guess I'm just lucky because there isn't anything wrong with my Maroon paint job. I bought it from the original owner and I have no Delamination going on. I also double checked the VIN code too make sure.

Actually if you read the FAQ or whatever they are at the side menu, it explains that due to strict California air pollution standards, they had to "water down" the paint a little bit. That's the way I interpreted it. Most of the later year 3rd gens came from Van Nuys.

Every car 88-92 is from there, 82-87 they were mixed between the 2 place.

I said different process.
The other plant didn't have to meet those standards and gave great paint jobs in comparison.

Yes it has to be under warranty. My car was repainted in 1996 while still under factory warranty because the paint was coming off of the rear spoiler. I've still got the reciept for it

if it is chipping on the bumpers only, then chances are the painter did not use the flex addative in the paint.

I kinda figured that it was too late, but never hurts to ask. I think I might ask about it when I got to get my seatbelts replaced the 1st (under the recall). They didn't believe me that there was a recall, and I made them look it up, and sure enough, there it was, so they got me the parts and are doin it the 1st. Mabye I can get the paint done too, that would be f***ing awesome

Was he the origional owner of the burban or did he get a warranty on it or somethin when he bought it?
