Ride height and spring isolator questions
Is it just me or has anybody else also noticed this? Every '91 or 92 Camaro I have seen rides about 1.5" lower than my 88 IROC. I'm not talking about how high the GFX are off the ground, I mean the wheel gap. They seem to have at the most two inches or so between the tire and the fender lip while my car and earlier cars have at least 3 inches if not more. Hell, my rear springs are also half a coil shorter than stock, yet my car is still so much taller.
What's the deal here? Did GM put crappy springs in later cars that sagged much faster than IROC springs or were they actually lower from the factory?
This brings me to my next question. How thick are the rear spring isolators supposed to be? Could my car by higher because it might have thicker isolators
? They're about 0.5" thick at their thinnest point. Is it even possible to leave out the spring isolaters? It seems like it wouldn't be possible for the spring to seat properly without the isolater. Any answers are greatly appreciated :hail:
