Reworking fender badges

The GTA badges on my car are in great shaoe but the gold outline is worn off.His anyone found a way to fix this ?? I tried paint but looks bad.

At a car show long time ago, aguy ther had a 91 GTA he had all the plastic badges taken off, and then he said he took them to some kind of jeweler and had them dupplicates made out of jewelers metal and then gold plated looked REAL sharp.
Just a thought that I'd pass on
