How to install fog lamps
Does anyone know of a previous post on how to install fog lamps, or does anyone have detailed instructions how to install them? The only part I am having problems with it the wiring, I have not a clue where I get power from, how I wire the relay, how to wire the switch etc. Any help would be appreciated, I want to perhaps start doing this this summer. =)
Well it depends on the brand of lights you use. All brands basically have the same wiring scheme but the more expensive brands are easier to install and have better wire. Such as Piaa (my personal favorite).
Anyway, the tricky part is just making the wires look neat because there is quite a bit of looping and whatnot going on. Well as far as getting power to the lights, you can go directly to the battery or the fuse panel. Take you power wire (usually red) and hook it up to your positive battery terminal with some kind of fitting on the end of the wire. Don't connect just a bare wire to the terminal.
As far as your relay, that should be just a little box with a fuse and relay in it? That can be hidden anywhere and shouldn't need to be worried about. Next would be your ground wire. Black. This can be hooked up to the negative terminal on your battery just like the positive one or you can screw it to any solid metal part of the car, like the frame or wheel well or something like that.
Now if your light switch has a light on it, then you may have two power wires (one for the lights, and one to power the little light in the switch). Both of these can be hooked up to the battery if need be. Now be careful, if you use the battery for your power source as opposed to the fuse panel, then your lights will stay on after you turn off the car if you leave the switch on, just like your normal headlights. You just have to remember to turn off the switch, which isn't generally a problem at night but it it's a little light out, then it can be easy to drain your battery by leaving the lights on.
Well now that you have read a novel here, I hope this helps.

I just installed fog lights in my 92RS. The fog lights came of an 85Z-28. Works just like the OEM. They even go off when you put the high beam on. Email me if you need more info.

Dimensions? All I know is the stock lights tend to be larger than the things you buy in the store. In my own opinion I just think the stock look better if you want to spend the extra money.
