Has anyone taken out their back seats.

I have no use for my back seats. People can't get back there anyways. Me and my friend took his back seats out of his 94 Mustang GT and covered them with a inch thick board and carpeted them and the trunk compartment. I was thinking of doing the same with my car and wanted to know peoples ideas on what to do with the extra space. Custom sound system, should i just leave the seats there anyway, just cover them, or get midgets as friends and have them play on my roll cage. Naw but all kidding aside I think the custom sound system sounds like a good idea. Maybe 4 10's back there or 2 12's one in each seat well. Ahh who knows. Please help.

Leave them. I mean I had 3 people in the back of my car, all like 6 feet tall 18 year olds. They may have been cramped. But it was fun. Gaurenteed the minute you remove those seats your going to need them for something.

Its going to be really hard for someone anysize to crawl between a 6 point cage with the cross bar behind the seats that don't come out. I would love to keep them in, but I have no use for them really. I have an 88 TBi camaro that has back seats so I'll just take that car. The 86 below is my fun car. I'm shooting to break into the 11's on street tires and low 11's with track tires. I want to have fun and do something different with this car as you can see by current mods.

No i got a beefed up 12 bolt in there now with a 3.73 auborn posi. I'm hoping it all stays together for a while till next winter when a 9' inch ford goes in there along with custom heads and cam. THe car in that pic is not even done yet and it is filthy. Thanks i also have a nother delima. I was thinking of polishing my blower and most of the engine that shows anyway. I should do it before it gets put together.

I pulled the passenger side back seat out of my GTA for my 15lb bottle..

I have the split rear thing, so it looks fine only one seat there.. I'm contemplating removing the other seat... just don't know what to put there, and the only thing I can fathom is another 15lb bottle..

Have any pics of your cage ? I'm shopping for a 6 or 8 point cage.. (has to be NHRA legal.. as I'm no longer welcome at the local dragstrip due to that damn 11.99 & under rule....)

I don't have pics of it installed. but here is a link to the shop that's doing my work. I also got the cage with the swing out door bars which is NHRA legal as long as there is a pin in them. http://www.zratedmotorsports.com
go to the Online shopping and then look for saftey and then cages. I got the weld in 6 point cage. Don't worry since the cage is in a 4th gen. It is easly made to fit our cars. Also try jegs they have 8 point cages for around $200. Hope that helped.

when you say easily made to fit in our cars, do u mean just weld in or do you have to cut some interior plastic to make it fit?

No cutting of anything from what I am told. The interior stays the same just just mod the cage at the factory. If that is a lil high for your taste. Try Jegs they got 8 points for around $200 flat. But then you ahve to pay for the freight charge. Ouch.
