what color should i paint my new block??
what color should i paint my new block??
right now my new 406 is chevy orange and i know that is the historicaly correct color but i am not sure if i like it or not.. i think i may paint it black or chevy blue what do u guys think??

Depends what you want it for. I had black and didn't like how it dissapeared in the black engine bay. I now went with red and really like how it stands out.

man karps that looks really really good!!!! u got the head covers that i want!! but i want the center bolt where did u get those from gm parts?? what did they run just curious.. also what else on there is chrome ?? besides your pullies.. very nice i like a lot!!

Don't go with black, too hard to see if you have oil leaks.
Out of curiousity, can you have it chrome dipped? If not, then go with Red, white, or blue. Be a patriot.

I got the valve covers from Scoggin Dickey. Back in December they had them on sale for $100 plus a $10 rebate. So $90 was a hell of a deal. chrome wise I had all the brackets done, motor mounts, and strut mounts done. I will say this though, as nice as chrome looks, I already am getting tired of trying to keep it clean and free of fingerprints

DO NOT CHROME DIP UNTIL YOU DO SOME RESEARCH!!!.
It may look nice, but I would look into how it affects block cooling before I ever did that... I would think it would have an effect...
