Paint Problem!!!

I decided to paint my headlamp pockets black, like the Z28's. I masked around the area and put 5 coats of semi gloss on. Turned out great, except I got some small black spots on the front bumper. The car has original paint and was wondering what would be the best way to get the black spots off.

goof off might work, but dont leave it on too long and wash the spot right after, thats how my friend got paint splatters off the Fireturd, worked well. USE CAUTION, expecially if has clear coat

I dont think goof off would work, it only works on latex based paints, you might try buffing out the spots, good luck

If the black paint is only a day or so old get a clean white cloth like an old t-shirt and whip it off with some mineral spirits. Then wax.

Worked pretty nice for my friend, I wouldnt try mineral spirits, at least not straight up, there is another type of paint remover, cant remember the name, it contains mineral spirits, but not like straight up, its in home depot or lowes in the paint section, go there and ask someone. Good luck

Mineral Spirits will not hurt your paint if it is removed in a fairly short time.Just use it on a rag to rub off the black paint. It will take wax off. Beware of thinners with additives. Some will take the clear coat off. If your not sure put alittle on a rag and rub it on the bottom of a rocker panel underneath the car. It will clean the road film off and will not hurt the paint. Don't just pour it on the nose or something. Hell I use it to take off tar and sap.

I did the same thing once...talk about Another think you can use is WD40. Spray it on a rag & use to wipe them off. But, always remember to use more WD40 compared to more rubbing force. Afterwards, I would recommend using some wax to cleanup the paint. Good luck!

Clay bars are terriffic for gettin over spray off. For some reason, there were a few red specks on my car when I bought it, prolly someone touching up another car... anyway, the clay bar got rid of it no problem!

Ok guys, Its been over a week since the overspray has been on, I've had an infection in my knee, so I haven't been able to do any work on it. I got some Rubbing Compound, will that take the overspray off, or should I sand it with some 2000 grit paper and wax it instead.

I say wet sand with extreamly fine sand paper and then polish it after wards you will not notice any black over spray.
