Rear Aero Spoiler Options?
Hello to everyone here. I am a new guy to this forum, and have a few questions.
First off, I am not new to the third gen F-bodies. I have owned in the past a 1986 Trans AM, LG4, Auto. My new bird is a 1988 T/A, 305, TBI, M5, T-Top. It has 175,000 miles on it, and is in pretty decent shape. It will still get up to 95 in a big hurry! I am not into beating and abusing my cars, especially not this one because it used to be my good friends car.
The question revolves around the rear aero spoiler. It has the usual cracks in the paint. The whole car will be re-painted soon, as it was in a front end collision. Everything has been repaired up front, but there are a few small spots of rust to take care of, and the usual parking lot dings. I have priced out the spoiler from GT Auto Acc, but I can not see paying $440 for the damn thing. I can have mine refinished for less than that. You will have to excuse this next statement, but I also have a 1989 Mustang 5.0 that I am restoring. I have priced out new fiberglass parts for that, and I have never seen anything come close to that price. Is there anyplace that sells them cheaper? If not, has anyone bought a spoiler from these people? What is the quality? Thanks for looking.
