New hood emblem has prongs? (quick question)

hey,
I bought a new hood emblem and i thought I would just have to glue/double side tape it to the front bumper. Yet it has 2 plastic prongs on the back. What do i do? cut the probgs off flush with the back and just glue/tape?

Thanks

Unless it's an aftermarket bumper cover--it should have holes in it for those plastic studs. If you don't have holes, I'd suggest you make some small holes--or I think you'll lose it eventually.

Do you still have the old one on the car?

Take out your airbox. Reach through there towards the nose. When you get your hand behind the emblem, you should feel the 2 nuts, they are either 10mm or 13mm.

no holes

I have to check for the studs (car is in parking lot waaaay across campus). But, I befriended a chevy dealership mechanic who said he'd help me with my car at a fraction of the cost the dealership would charge, so i will ask him today when I see him. He is helping me put in new brakes (yeah I know it isn't that hard, but I never did it and don't have any tools except ratchets, torx head ratchets, and a ratchet screwdriver here at school. Plus I need him to help rebuild me carb...it's leaking a weeee bit, enough to see moisture around one nut on the carb...and smell the fumes when i drive it.
Thnaks a lot!!!
I think its an aftermarket nose because he said he priginally bought the car in bad condition. Wouldn't know it from looking at it.

all you need to change brake pads is an 6inch C clamp and a lug nut remover and a torx head ratchet, you've got the tools!!

Might need a jack too...

thats it?

I thought I needed to put silicone lube on the pads...I have that at home, but i really don't know the expert way of applying it. Besides the mechanic is cool and I wouldn't mind learning a thing or too from him.
By the way...I first bought brake shoes because I thought an 86 Z-28 would have drums...they have rear discs??? Anyone ever hear of that?

Yep, that's it, it's covered in the Haynes 82-92 Camaro manual, photograph-by-photograph. Just do a search on the suspension/chassis/brakes forum, you'll find tons of posts on how to do your own brakes.
