If your car is an 89 or newer there will be square shaped holes in the inner door skin behind the door trim panel. Get some of the plastic inserts that fit these holes. They are in the HELP section of the auto parts store labeled "License Plate mounting kit". Push the inserts into the holes then screw a screw into them and reinstall the door trim. Pound on the door trim with a hammer in those locations. It will create an indentation where the holes should go. Then punch through with an awl. If your car is older you will have to line the door pocket up with the inner door panel and drill the holes. In that case just use regular sheet metal screws to attach it or drill a larger hole, slip in J-clips and screw into those. The plastic can be painted with SEM Color Coat. It is a plastic paint made for flexible or rigid plastic and sold in good paint stores. Good luck, Lon.
