Thanks for the pictures. I am currently trying to restore a 1985 ta. Seeing your progress on the rust front gives me more hope. What did you use to undercoat the car ?. I am looking for an undercoating that will also fight the current rust and not just cover it over. I found dome stuff from Resto Motive but it's $95. 00 a gallon. There has to be something else.

pokes87iroc, yea I will have to take it down to go get an alignment, when i complete the rest of the car..

85talb9tpi, i just used the 3M rubberized undercoating...i primed and painted the underside then scuffed it up a little and sprayed the undercoating.. I think its like 8.00, it comes in an aerosol can,
its a rather large can though..

85talb9tpi, maybe check out eastwood's rust encapsulator and put in on there first, its suppost to seal it so the rust doesnt get anymore oxygen and get worse, then just put the undercoating on. I believe is like $25 a quart

Looks like things are coming along. Any plans on cleaning up the TPI air induction??

Oh, not to sound like an @ss, but you may not want to put your signature in every reply, saves the people on 56k a little. I don't mind, I'm on T1 at college, but come Wednesday I'll be one of those 56kers.

Sorry for those of you on 56k as Mark pointed out...im used to my cable and didnt think of it.

Yes, I plan to clean that up, it will take alot but I dont plan on driving it in the winter so ill end up doing it then probably.

Well, as far as the inner fenders, it depends on how good you are at cutting from one to form into another and alot of time. I cut the whole deal off a 91 from the junkyard, then you have all the friggin spot welds to get apart (that really sucks). then cut yours out and set these in there and weld em in...i just welded all the way around...it turned out nice... i painted em before i put them in but after you put them em you get scuffs from banging around getting in place....

Good luck..
