Take off the back trim at the back window, the side trim shifts backwards and pops off, and the headliner will shift to one side at the front to come off, pull off the fabric, clean the fiberglass board of any debis, left over particles etc (carefull, don't wreck it) then head to fabric land, buy the fabric of choice (i went with a black felt, and sewed a blue plastic mesh to it) then get some heavy spray adhesive, and stick it on... take the clips on the side out with a small screwdriver (push on the center part, they kinda 'ratchet' out of the hole) and re attach them to the side trim. clip the front up, then reattach the back trim (it helps to have someone else holding it upo while you screw it in, then push the side trim back in place. and tadaa, new headliner. Mine cost 7$ cdn for adhesive, and 6$ for the mesh and fabric, and it looks great

I've got a cheaper way! Go to Staples, and buy a box of "medium binder clips" for $1.50. You've all seen them... a black "clip" in the center, and two thin, removable handles.

Pull down the side plastic, and the rear plastic. Pull the rest of the headliner material away from the board, so it all hangs like a curtain. The only thing holding the material up should be the front of the headliner board, and the dome light.

On each side, pull the material to the side, fold it over the back of the headliner board, and use a binder clip to clip it in place. Use 5-6 binder clips per side. Remove all the silver handles. Do the back of the headliner board, too. Put the plastic trim back up.

It hangs a bit in damp weather... but that's about it. I actually got compliments on it a few times- go figure.

But Hamster, I'm going to try the adhesive method this summer. The material on my headliner board is shot, and looks disgusting- ever since I put new ACC carpet in, two years ago. New carpet really makes the rest of the interior look like hell!

Look in a J.C. Whitney catalog, they sell headliner/door panel material (with the foam backing) by the yard. Pull out the old headliner, remove the old material, clean it up good and install the new material with 3m spray trim adhesive.
