A cool modified dash

It's not mine. It belongs to a new member LETSROC, check it out.

It eliminates that empty look our dashes have. I think it looks sweet.

It's nice, just seems like to many gauges in the car with the stock ones. That's why I don't like having a tach, and 2 other gauges outside the instrument panel.

Another pic

The car is for sale. He also added more switches to match the window and hatch switch.

Here is the link for his car so everyone can see it

I think I like that.

Plus, its cool to see somone doing something different. I like that steering wheel a lot too... not to mention, maybe I should jump into a flameproof suit before i say this, but I think that shift **** actually looks good with everything in there.

I don't care for it because it looks too flat IMO. Needs more curves. As for this last thing...

The dash is the only part of that car I don't like. The installation of the amps, processors and subs is among the best I've seen in a thirdgen, and the exterior of the car looks great too. I just can't get used to the dash. It's way too bulky and old-fashioned looking. It looks like it belongs in a 75 BMW or a 69 Land Cruiser. The best custom dash I've seen is the one in that Chromillusion purple/green 91Z with the twin superchargers. His dash was what I'm going to model mine after. It's super-clean, and has a styling that won't be so easily dated in a few years.

I like the fact that he's done something personal and unique. While I may go a slightly different direction, would anybody mind giving me some hints on how he did all that? Is that plastic? And if so, how did he mold it so cleanly? I've studied techniques like vacuum-forming, but it just isn't too practical for large interior pieces, I think. Right now I'm actually looking at sheet aluminum to make a custom interior. Anybody care to comment or help me out?

oh yeah, I was talking about the one at the top, not the jet cockpit. Is that even legal? I would think there'd be a law against distractions or something....j/k

I'm really partial to my set-up actually. It was kinda hard to fabricate but the result i think is really bitchin'

I like that first dashboard setup, but not that ****ed up one. Also I saw no one answer mark's question, but he may have saw the company's name on it. It's MOMO, I haven't heard much about it yet, but some guys are starting to install them.

What are you talking about? A jet cockpit is much more organized and installed cleaner. That car looks like it was concieved by a rice boy on crack.

I really like the dash this thread is about. It's clean, simple, and classy. The install of the amps and stereo is also very cool.

Hey slush92rs -- It's cool to see somebody local. How did you fabricate your dash? Did you have help from one of those custom shops in Wichita. I've heard some of them do custom fiberglass interiors for the rice guys, but I was hoping to do my dash myself. Yours is a little closer to what I was wanting.

Trauma, i did that whole set-up myself. The panel behind the steering wheel is a piece of sheetmetal. It was a pain to cut out using a dremel but it works for now. I plan on doing another one because there are a few blemishes where the dremel got loose on me!

I was just about to point that playboy logo out- it's the perfect finishing touch! It was the first thing that caught my eye!
