It seems as if someone melted the top of the torx screws on the stock lower console of my 83 trans am. I'm trying to put new window switches, but I can't get the panel off because of the screws. I tried drilling into the top of the screw but that didn't work...what now?

Also, what size torx screws are used on the instrument panel on the dash? I tried T10, T15, and T20, and none of them work. Either they are badly worn out or are a different kind of screw.
