Hi. I'm using the starter pictured and want to make sure I have it wired correctly because I can't get it to work when I turn the key. Most of the wires (including the fuse able links and wire from battery) are on the top post. There is a small purple wire on the bottom screw post. Is this correct?
On the picture you posted, You add NOTHING onto the bottom large screw post. Only thing that goes to it, is the that that is on it, in that picture you posted.
Your fuseable links and all goes onto the top like you have it,
But your small ign. switch wire (I think it's purple) goes to the flat blade post on the left center in that pic you posted
Your starter as pictured uses a ring and spade terminal end setup rather than stock large/small ring.
You will need to cut the ring term off the one wire and crimp on a female spade that will plug onto the male spade post on your starter.

Yeah Z28 they are all the same in the wiring, you are 100% spot on. Some just has a blade term and some has a ring term... The ones with the blade post trips up a lot of people because it is so different for a chevy, you know
