power window wiring?
All of my 89 firebirds wiring for the windows is cut up. How much trouble is it to make it all work again? Does anyone have a schematic of the wiring in that area?

Re: power window wiring?
Just (properly ) re-splice the wiring and check to see if the windows work.
If just repairing the wiring is all that's needed than it should be easy to resolve,... if the motors are bad than you'll have to take the door panels off to replace them.

If only it was that easy. There's like 50 wires near the shifter hole and the previous owner cut them pretty short. I'm considering trying the junkyard for the wiring from a 3rd gen.

Re: power window wiring?
Well I don't have a schematic but if the wiring was cut only at the sifter hole, then you may be able to splice in a new harness fairly easily. It would be best to check for the harness at a junkyard, but the harness for the power windows/door locks is not too bad to separate (that is if the camaro and firebird harnesses are the same.)
The harness should plug into the main vehicle harness under the drivers kick panel and also a big relay. The rest of the wires go to the window regulators/door lock actuators, and switches.
The only wiring under the center console is for the two switches, which I believe have four wires each, and a small ground wire.

This is what your Power Window Switche wiring SHOULD look like.

None of the wiring in your last 2 pictures has anything to do with the power windows.

Re: power window wiring?
If you are still going to splice the wires, it's a good idea to offset them so they aren't as bulky. this also reduces the outside chance of a short later on.
