Any year of thirdgen 'bird gfx will fit, it just depends on which style you like best. Camaro side gfx will also fit, in exactly the same manner that I put TransAm side gfx on my '86 Camaro.

I have done this on 2 cars. All 85-90 effects will fit. The worst part is welding on the side effect supports. My advice is to buy new ones from Classic Industries rather than try to straighten out the ones from a donor car. If they aren't STRAIGHT the damned ABS plastic lower effect warps up under the door and rubs. (my 87 GTA has this problem from a dip**** armed with a floor jack.) Also, the front bumper cover poses another problem, the lower ground effect is part of it and GM wants a friggin fortune for it. I have never seen a GOOD one in a junkyard (and I worked in one for 7 years and have friends in low places still). What's that, aftermarket you say, they don't fit at the fender quite right and IMO they look like hell. If you go with an aftermarket one, go with CertiFit, they actually fit the best out of all of the AM ones out there. I have a PRETTY complete set of effects that I no longer need. Make me an offer. Sorry this post is soooo damn long I get a little carried away sometimes.

Hey I'm 17 and I have an '88 TA. I actually want to remove my stock GFX. Does anybody know how hard this is? I like the look of the rounded bottom like on 'Birds, and I don't like the scraped paint from the curbs on the GFX. Thanks, Matt S.

On the side effects there is a long bracket welded to the rocker panel that will have to be removed and ther is also a whole bunch of holes that will need to be filled. That doesn't take into account that fact that there will probably be a bit of rust behind the bolt on panels due to the difficulty of keeping it clean back there. Also you will need a new front and rear bumper cover. My advice is to sell your T/A and look for a decent Formula.
